First off the band directors would like to congratulate the 7th and 8th grade students who participated in the OMEA District 8 Solo and Ensemble event at Alliance HS this past Saturday. These students were a part of 25 Superior Ratings and 5 Excellent Ratings. Way to go! Your hard work and dedication was evident in the quality performances that were given by everyone. The feedback from the adjudicators was also constructive and complimentary. Congratulations!
Next, our Spring Concert is fast approaching! The concert is Thursday evening, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. here at LMS. Students will be asked to report at 6:30. The dress code for the concert remains the same as the Winter Concert: Gentlemen, a shirt and tie, dress pants, and dress shoes; Ladies, a dress or a skirt and blouse, with appropriate shoes. ALL SCHOOL DRESS CODE RULES APPLY. We hope you join us that evening to hear some excellent music performed by excellent students. We're incredibly proud of how the bands have progressed and improved during this school year, and we hope you'll agree after you've heard them. Please remember that concert attendance is mandatory.
The last major item of the day is the student playing levels. This is our end of the year playing assessments that all Louisville Band students are required to complete. Students should be practicing the various parts of these level assessments now as we'll be starting the testing very soon. All 8th Grade Students Participating In the High School Band Must Pass Level III Or Higher.
It's hard to believe that the school year is coming to a close. We'll have information regarding summer lessons, and the High School Band schedule in the coming weeks.
Have a great week!
