We are so excited to share our music with you This Thursday Night at 7:00pm Here At LMS!
We ask that all students arrive no later than 6:30pm for warmup to the following rooms:
6th-Band Room
7th-Mrs. Galentine's Room
8th-Mrs. Villers' Room
We ask that all audience members remain for the duration of the concert. Due to the high volume of guests attending the performance, the students will be supervised in the gymnasium when they are not performing to ensure that all attendees have a seat. Students with a sibling in another band may come in to watch the performances. We want each of our bands to perform in front of a "full house" so make plans to stay for the entire performance. You'll be glad you did!
The concert should last approximately one hour. Afterwards, students will be asked to assist in moving equipment back to the band room. Please be sure to follow the concert dress requirements outlines in our course syllabus that was handed out on the first day of school. This information can also be found in the documents section of this site.
The students have worked tremendously hard to prepare this program for you and the community and we are proud of their efforts. We were fortunate to have Mr. Scott Curfman with us last Friday as a guest clinician with the bands. Mr. Curfman has had a long and successful career in public education in Northeast Ohio including a long tenure at Cuyahoga Falls HS. Mr. Curfman spent several years as the Director of Marching and Athletic Bands at Kent State before being name Interim Director of Bands in 2010 where he oversaw all bands at Kent State. Mrs. Markiewicz is a former student of Mr. Curfman and enjoyed having him as an instructor during her college years. Mr. Curfman gave the students valuable feedback on ways to improve our performance for Thursday but also imparted lasting ideas to help improve overall musicianship in the bands. Our students represented themselves and LMS well to our guest. We are so thankful to Mr. Curfman for his time and talents. We hope to invite him back again in the future!
