Good Morning,
The bands have all had a good week of rehearsals/lessons and are already taking steps toward our next performances coming up later in the school year. Please refer to the Important Dates tab for all of the upcoming events we have for the rest of the school year. 7th and 8th Grade students all have new music in their folders, all of which we are preparing for later in the year. 6th grade students are working in their group lessons out of their band books as we continue to add new notes and musical concepts they need to know in order to play more challenging concert music for the end of the year. We're excited about what all of the groups are doing!
The directors would like to congratulate and wish "Good Luck" to seven 8th grade band members selected to perform in the Ohio Music Education Association's District 8 Middle School Honors Band in conjunction with the OMEA District 8 Mini-Conference this Saturday. Those students are: Brandon Counts-Alto Sax, Ashley Grove-Oboe, Brendan McIntyre-Percussion, Jon Reynolds-Tuba, Derek Ross-Trumpet, Alexis Shearer-Bassoon, and Daniel Simpkins-Percussion. The students were nominated by the directors and selected from students across Stark, Tusc., Carroll, Jefferson, and Columbiana counties. Over 80 students will be participating in this event. We're proud of these students for their involvement!
