Good Morning!
We've had another great week with the LMS Bands. Each group is making progress as we prepare to start working on music for our first concert. Please make sure that your student is practicing at home and filling out the practice sheet every week. Incomplete or unsigned practice sheets receive a 10% deduction. We are still missing a handful of unsold fundraiser cards and money as of this morning. Please make every effort to return these items ASAP. We sold over 600 discount cards during our two week sale! Thank you for your efforts! At this point in the year it is important that each student has all of the supplies they need to keep their instrument in good working order. For brass players that means valve/slide oil and tuning slide grease and for woodwinds that means a supply of good reeds (3-4 of them), cork grease, and a swab. These items are available for purchase through us so please let us know if you need any of the above items. If we are out, we can order more supplies. 6th grade parents please make sure you have paid for your students' band book if you got one through school. The books are $8. We are excited about the upcoming events at the high school this weekend. Music in Motion begins at 5:15 with the flag raising and the first band performs at 5:30. The Pride of Louisville takes the field at 9:00pm with awards to follow immediately after. Music in Motion is a wonderful showcase of the talent and hard work of band students from around Northeast Ohio and it promises to be a special evening. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate for $6 (adults) and $4 (senior citizens and students). The concession stand will have delicious food available for purchase along with a pie table (new this year!). We hope you can make it

Good Morning!
This is a very busy week for our high school band and Band Booster organization. We are hosting the 38th annual Music in Motion band competition this Saturday at our home stadium. This is an OMEA Sanctioned adjudicated event featuring 13 bands from around the area including The Pride of Louisville. If you are an 8th grade parent you should have been contacted about volunteering some of your time on Saturday. We hope you are able to help in some way as this event takes large contingent of parent volunteers to operate. We thank you for your time! The first band is scheduled to perform at 5:30pm with the Pride of Louisville performing at 9:00pm. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and students. All LMS band students will receive one student ticket for themselves. Please come and support the LHS Band Boosters, the Pride of Louisville, and the 12 other bands performing on Saturday, it looks to be a great event! Our LMS Band Fundraiser looks to have been a success! Thank you to those students and families who participated in raising much-needed funds to support the bands. All money and unsold discount cards are due at this time. Please return them ASAP. In the coming weeks each band will begin to receive their music for the Winter Concert. It's hard to believe that we are already gearing up for our first performance! Please be sure that your student is practicing at home. At home practice reinforces important concepts addressed in rehearsals and in sectionals. We are excited about the potential we're seeing in all of the bands and we're especially excited to watch our brand-new 6th grade students progress in the few shorts weeks we've been together. As always, thank you for your support of the LMS Good Morning!
Our LMS Band Fundraiser is off and running! Our goal is for each band member to sell their 5 cards they were given (or more if they'd like!). The funds we raise go towards the purchase of new instruments, new technology, new music, and allows us to cover the cost of participating in solo and ensemble events. These funds are vital to the band department. The sale is over next Friday, 9/13. All money will be due at that time. 8th Grade Band Members! Tonight is our evening with the High School Band. Please report to the HS Choir Room (door 7 at the HS) at 5:30 tonight. At the conclusion of the game all 8th grade band members are invited to a party in the cafeteria that goes until 12:00 midnight. Cost for the party is $3. Please come dressed in leopard attire and be ready to have a great time! Remember, practice sheets are due each monday |
