8th Grade Students and Parents: The HS band has invited this year's 8th grade band to attend the West Branch Football game with them on 10/3 (This coming Friday). The students are encouraged to wear Louisville spirit wear (weather appropriate). We ask that students report to the HS Choir Room at 5:15 pm Friday evening. Students may enter the HS through Door #7 and proceed through the band room to the choir room. The directors and HS students will be around to help direct people where they need to be. After the game is over and the band returns to the band room, the students will be dismissed. The 8th graders are invited to stay for a party in the cafeteria (parents are welcome to stay as well). The party lasts until Midnight. There will be pizza and pop available for a small fee ($3-$5 will be enough). The students will have a chance to eat, dance, and socialize with each other and the HS band students. This is a special night for all involved and you don't want to miss it! Please contact Mr. Stankey with any questions.

Good Morning!
First off THANK YOU for your support of the LMS Band Fundraiser. All money collected and unsold cards must be turned in TODAY. We appreciate the work the students put into this fundraiser! Schedule-We have now settled into a consistent routine with each grade level. Please check the calendar page for the lesson/sectional schedule each week. Please be sure that all practice sheets and workbook assignments are turned in promptly. It is important to set aside time to practice just like time is set aside for homework. Students who neglect to practice will not progress as quickly and may not reach their full potential. If private lessons are something that interests you and your student, please contact a director so we may refer you to an area teacher. We are, as always, thankful for your support of the LMS Band program. Good Morning!
Schedule Changes-Starting Monday, 6th graders will now have a lesson with us once a day. The groups will alternate between 3rd Period and Core Plus More. On Monday, Group 2 will meet during 3rd period and Group 1 will meet during Core Plus. That schedule will flip every other day, so Tuesday Group 1 meets during 3rd and 2 during Core Plus. 6th graders will need their instruments and books daily from here on. 8th Grade-Will also begin utilizing Core Plus More Monday. Group A sections (Trumpets/Flutes/Oboe) will come to band during Core Plus for the duration. Wednesday Group B (Horns, Saxes, Percussion) will come and Thursday Group C (Clarinets, Low Brass) will come. 7th Grade-Will begin utilizing Core Plus More Monday. Monday's groups are Trumpets and Flutes, Tuesdays, Oboe and Saxes, Wednesday's are Bassoon, Baritone Tuba, and Percussion, Thursday's are Clarinets, Bass Clarinets and Trombones. Students will report directly to band following lunch and be dismissed to Core Plus at 12:05. 8th Grade Marchers and Band Aides-Be checking the LHS Facebook Page and or website for updates to the schedule for our first home game against Ravenna! All Grades-Please sign up for the LMS Bands Remind accounts. Information can be found on this website on how to get signed up for text or email alerts. FUNDRAISER MONEY AND UNSOLD CARDS ARE DUE THIS FRIDAY 9/12 PLEASE SELL THE CARDS UP UNTIL THEN. Thanks for your support! “These findings are a testament that it’s a mistake to think of music education as a quick fix, but that if it’s an ongoing part of children’s education, making music can have a profound and lifelong impact on listening and learning.”
Click here to read more! Good Morning, We'd like to take a minute and give you some information regarding out LMS Band Fundraiser this year. We are once again selling discount cards from Saving Street Fundraising. The cards cost $15 and the bands receive 50% of the proceeds from the cards. The cards come with a wallet sized card with standing offers from the businesses on the back. Around the card are key-tags with one time offers from several businesses as well. The sale runs through next Friday. Our goal is for each student to sell the 5 cards (or more!) they were given at the beginning. Checks can be made out to LMS. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase a new bassoon for LMS. We ask that students not go door to door but rather ask friends, close neighbors, and family members if they are interested. There are prizes to those students who sell the most number of cards: $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd. There will also be a pizza party/open gym night for the grade level who averages selling the most number of cards. Please help support the bands through this fundraising opportunity! We appreciate your support! |
