I wanted to touch base one more time before Friday night's festivities. As
you may or may not know, country music artist, Ricky Lee, has chosen
Louisville as the site of his upcoming music video. Ricky's video crew
will be at the game this Friday night filming. Ricky Lee is also
performing the National Anthem. We're very excited that Louisville gets to
be a part of this project. We're not exactly sure what they'll be needing
the band for at this point outside of playing our normal pregame and
halftime shows. We have been asked to play a patriotic song at the
conclusion of the game.
*Report Time for Friday is 5:15 in the HS Choir Room.* Students may enter
the HS from door 6 (into the band room) and will be directed into the choir
room. Please make every effort to be on time. With the Ricky Lee music
video being filmed I'm not sure what traffic will be like. It's probably
best to be a little early to be on the safe side. The students will march
up to the stadium with the band
*After the game:* The band will remain at the stadium to participate in the
music video filming. We aren't exactly sure what they'll need us for but
we are making the band available. Once we return to the HS we will begin
the pizza party in the cafeteria. The cost of the party is $3. The party
will be over at 11:30pm. Students can be picked up outside of Door 6 at
the conclusion of the evening.
*What to bring:* Please make sure your student has their instrument (or
drum sticks for percussionists). The weather looks like it will be quite
chilly. Students should wear blue jeans and leopard spirit-wear but should
layer up and/or wear a jacket. Hats and gloves are acceptable as well.
This is always a special night for both the 8th grade band and our HS band
students. It should be a great evening! Please contact me with any
questions you might have.
