This message is for all 8th grade band members and their parents. On Friday, September 28 the 8th grade band has been invited to spend an evening with the High School Marching Band. The 8th graders will be working to prepare the fight songs and stands tunes to play with the marching band. The 8th grade students WILL NOT be going onto the field, rather just sitting up in the stands playing with the band.
The students should report to the High School Band Room at 6 p.m. We ask that students wear jeans and either a blue, grey, or white sweat shirt or jacket, or Louisville sweatshirt or jacket (if possible). The students will stay with the band for the duration of the football game and can be picked up at the band room. The game should conclude around 10 p.m.
The students will be invited to a party hosted by the high school band following the game. There will be music, dancing, and food/drink provided. The cost of the party will be announced closer to the date of the event but they typically cost $3-5 per person. Parents are welcome to attend. The party will conclude at midnight. Please be back to pick your student up promptly at midnight!
This night is one that both the 8th grade band and high school band look forward to. Please contact Mr. Stankey with any questions or concerns about this event.
Thanks!
EDIT: There is an error in the letter I sent home today with the students. The game on 9/28 is against Alliance HS NOT Carrollton as it appears in the letter. I apologize for the error.
